Congressman Mike Lawler Commemorates Lubavitcher Rebbe’s ZT”L Birthday with Education Day Proclamations {VIDEO}

In a notable moment on the House floor, New York Congressman Mike Lawler declared the birthday of the Lubavitcher Rebbe ZT”L celebrated on 11 Nissan, as Education and Sharing Day. This annual recognition aligns with a tradition upheld by U.S. presidents since the 1980s, acknowledging the Rebbe’s significant contributions to education and moral upbringing.

Congressman Lawler issued six proclamations targeting Chabad Houses across Rockland and Westchester counties, each aimed at underscoring the importance of educational initiatives, particularly in the Jewish community. The honored Chabad centers include those in Rockland, led by Rabbi Avremel Kotlarsky; Suffern, headed by Rabbi Shmuel Gancz; and the Nyacks, under Rabbi Chaim Zvi Ehrenreich. In Westchester, the proclamations were presented to Chabad centers in Bedford, Yorktown, and Briarcliff and Ossining, led by Rabbis Arik Wolf, Yehuda Leib Heber, and Dovid Labkowski, respectively.

Chabad of Nyack expressed gratitude on social media, urging the community to reflect on contributions to general and Jewish education. “Thank you, Congressman Mike Lawler, for your leadership,” their post read, highlighting the positive impact of such recognitions on community morale and educational efforts.

Congressman Lawler reiterated the significance of the day in his speech, emphasizing the lasting influence of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s ZT”L educational and ethical teachings on the broader American society.
