William P. Faist Ambulance Corps partnered with the Monsey Fire Department on Wednesday evening for a hands-on emergency training exercise simulating a structure fire involving multiple patients and a mass casualty incident.
The exercise placed crews in a fast-moving, chaotic scenario designed to closely mirror the challenges responders could encounter during a real emergency. EMS members practiced patient triage and treatment, identifying and prioritizing critically injured patients and providing care efficiently while operating under pressure.
Other participants focused on incident command, EMS operations, scene organization and coordinating the overall emergency response.
The training was designed to strengthen coordination between the two agencies and ensure members are prepared to respond effectively when faced with a large-scale emergency.
Following the exercise, participants took part in a post-training debrief hosted by the Monsey Fire Department, giving members an opportunity to review the response, discuss what worked well and identify lessons that can be applied during future emergency operations.
Faist Ambulance Corps thanked its Training Officer for organizing and leading the exercise, as well as the Monsey Fire Department for partnering in the training and hosting the debrief.
