On Monday afternoon, October 27, 2025, at approximately 4:34 p.m., Haverstraw Police officers responded to a residence on Mackey Court in the Village of West Haverstraw following reports of a domestic dispute involving two men and a weapon.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside the home. Police immediately rendered medical aid before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains under medical care.
The suspect, identified as Tevin Williams, 28, who lives at the residence, was taken into custody at the scene and brought to the Haverstraw Police Department for processing.
Williams has been charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Murder in the Second Degree (PL 110/125.25(1))
- Criminal Use of a Firearm in the First Degree (PL 265.09(1)(a))
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (PL 265.02(8)) – 3 counts
- Criminal Possession of a Firearm (PL 265.01-b(1))
The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office BCI, the FBI–Westchester Safe Streets Task Force, and the Rockland County Intelligence Center assisted the Haverstraw Police Department at the scene.
Williams was arraigned in the Village of West Haverstraw Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility.
Authorities say the investigation remains active. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
