WESLEY HILLS UPDATE: Grandview Avenue Gas Line Project Ahead of Schedule; Saturday Work to Bring Temporary Closures

The Orange & Rockland gas line replacement project on Grandview Avenue remains ahead of schedule, with additional work planned for this Saturday, August 22.

Crews are scheduled to work from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as O&R energizes the newly installed gas main, allowing gas to begin flowing through the new infrastructure. The work will include some digging, testing for leaks, making any necessary repairs, and checking connections along the new main.

The contractor has committed to making efforts to reduce noise during excavation, and Ramapo Police will be present throughout the work.

During the project, the intersection of Grandview Avenue and Route 306 may be closed for approximately three to four hours. Grandview Avenue will also be closed to vehicular traffic from Route 306 to Grandview Elementary School.

Pedestrian access through the work area will remain available throughout the day.

The Village of Wesley Hills said it will continue to provide residents with updates and project schedules as additional information is received from O&R and its contractor.

For background on the project, see Monsey Scoop’s original report.
