Wesley Hills Mourns The Passing Of Former ZBA Chair Richard Weinberger

The Village of Wesley Hills announced the passing of longtime public servant Richard Weinberger at the age of 89. Weinberger devoted more than three decades to the community, serving on the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) from 1992 to 2025, including 14 years as chairman from 2007 to 2021. Colleagues remembered him for his meticulous command of each application and the sharp, inquisitive approach he brought to every hearing.

Mayor Marshall Katz praised Weinberger’s service and friendship, noting that he “kept up with the details of every application” and guided board deliberations with insight and care. “I had the pleasure of knowing him most of the years he served the Village and will miss him,” the mayor said.

The levaya took place on Thursday, with burial at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ. The Village extended its condolences to Weinberger’s family and friends during this difficult time.
