A lightning strike sparked a structure fire at a home on Holland Lane on Tuesday at approximately 4:40 p.m., prompting a rapid response from multiple fire and emergency agencies.
Firefighters from the Monsey, Hillcrest, and Thiells Fire Departments arrived quickly and brought the blaze under control, preventing the fire from spreading and limiting damage to the home.
Hatzoloh EMS, Spring Hill EMS, Ramapo Police, and Orange & Rockland also responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.
During the incident, the Orangburg Fire Department stood by at Monsey Fire Department headquarters to provide coverage in the event of any additional emergency calls.
