The Spring Valley Police Department has released a news-style video report highlighting a concerning rise in motor vehicle accidents across the village, including multiple incidents involving pedestrians being struck. The report, anchored by Officer Gomez, features live-style updates from officers in the field identifying high-risk areas throughout Spring Valley.
According to Officer Estrella, approximately 1,200 motor vehicle accidents were reported over the past year, driven in part by heavy traffic and consistent pedestrian activity. Authorities say Spring Valley has become a high-activity area for collisions, urging drivers to slow down and remain alert, especially during peak hours.
Officer Molina added that of those incidents, 245 involved personal injuries, with many cases linked to unsafe crossing and distracted driving. Police are reminding both drivers and pedestrians to stay vigilant and follow traffic laws at all times.
The department emphasized that road safety is a shared responsibility, urging motorists to yield to pedestrians and encouraging pedestrians to use crosswalks and remain visible. Officials say enforcement efforts will continue as part of their ongoing commitment to community safety.
