WATCH: Frightening Near-Miss on Palisades Interstate Parkway Sunday Morning Near Exit 11

Dashcam footage from the Palisades Interstate Parkway captured a frightening near-miss Sunday morning just before Exit 11. The video shows a pickup truck changing lanes without signaling, causing a vehicle traveling behind it to lose control and spin out, nearly overturning. Remarkably, the driver was able to regain control and continue on safely, avoiding a serious crash.

If the “lucky” driver wasn’t going so fast (probably 75 mph judging by how quickly he came upon the pick-up truck), this near-miss wouldn’t have occured. He probably had a gps that showed no police were around; yes, it might help to avoid tickets, but it’s not a license to drive like a maniac.

He was driving so fast (compared to the car he passed that had the drive cam) that you could say that he recklessly placed not only his own life in jeopardy, but the other motorist, as well. As for the driver of the white pick-up, yes, he too deserves some blame, but if the car that spun-out hadn’t approached with such reckless abandon, the pick-up driver’s actions would have not have led to this near-accident, although the pick-up driver clearly was in the wrong, as well.
