The Viznitz wedding hall in Monsey, known for more than a decade as Vilchovitz Hall, is set to receive a new official name along with a series of upgrades to the facility.
The hall will be named “Werdiger Hall” in memory of Reb Nechemia Werdiger z”l, the father of Agudas Yisroel Chairman and noted philanthropist Reb Shlomo Werdiger, who is sponsoring the dedication.
Construction on the project is expected to begin following the Yomim Tovim and will include improvements to the wedding hall and its access points. Among the planned upgrades is a new entranceway for the men’s side, which will also be dedicated in connection with the project.
Although the hall has been widely referred to as Vilchovitz Hall since opening approximately 13 years ago, Vilchovitz was not formally the name of the wedding hall itself. The name was associated with the building in which the hall is located and became the commonly used name for the venue over the years.
The upcoming project will now give the wedding hall its own formal identity as Werdiger Hall, while bringing additional improvements to the heavily utilized Viznitz simcha facility.
