Village of Spring Valley Mayor Appoints Michael A. Koplen as Temporary Village Justice Following Judge Altieri’s Passing

Village of Spring Valley Mayor Alan M. Simon has appointed Michael A. Koplen as the temporary Village Justice of Spring Valley. The appointment follows the recent passing of former Village Justice Vincent Altieri, who had previously stepped down from the bench due to health conditions, as Monsey Scoop reported.

Mayor Simon praised Koplen’s longstanding dedication to public service and his extensive legal experience, describing him as an “excellent choice who will serve with fairness and professionalism.” In a letter to Koplen, the mayor expressed full confidence in his ability to uphold the responsibilities of the position with integrity.

Koplen, who is currently out of state, has not yet taken the oath of office. He is expected to officially assume his duties upon his return.
