Village of Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach’s Efforts Lead to New Street Lighting on Hoyt Street

In response to resident concerns over inadequate lighting on Hoyt Street, Village of Spring Valley and its Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach’s efforts have led to the successful installation of a new street light by Orange and Rockland Utilities on the previously unlit road. The addition aims to improve safety and visibility, especially as shorter winter days bring earlier darkness

Deputy Mayor Eisenbach acknowledged that while the process took time, the new light marks a significant improvement for residents who had reached out about the area’s darkness. “It didn’t happen overnight, but eventually we were able to add a new light to the street,” Eisenbach told Monsey Scoop.

The Deputy Mayor also encouraged residents to report lighting issues on other village streets, promising to advocate for upgrades or additional lighting where needed. “Either we can upgrade to better lighting or, where there is an existing pole, request Orange & Rockland Utilities to add a light,” he explained, noting that while not all requests may be fulfilled, he would make every effort to enhance safety in dark areas.

Residents of Hoyt Street expressed their gratitude for the new lighting, especially as winter approaches.
