Village of Sloatsburg Marks Completion of Pine Grove Lake Upper Dam Project

The Village of Sloatsburg celebrated a major infrastructure milestone on Saturday, October 25th, as Mayor Frasier, Trustee Bitterman, and Village Clerk-Treasurer Kim Peters joined community members for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of the Pine Grove Lake Upper Dam project.

The effort—more than 20 years in the making—addressed critical repairs to the existing dam, which had been classified as a high-hazard structure by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).

Pine Grove Lake Association President Andre Sanchez, together with board members Kat Diamond, Sally Savino, Jimmy McCafferty, and John Johnson, attended the ceremony to commemorate this long-awaited achievement. Through careful financial management and long-term planning, the Association successfully funded the nearly one-million-dollar project without requiring any special assessments from members.

Village officials and residents praised the dedication and perseverance of all past and present Pine Grove Lake Board Members whose commitment made this essential safety and infrastructure improvement possible.
