Village of Pomona Hosts Public Menorah Lighting at Village Hall {PHOTOS & VIDEOS}

The Village of Pomona hosted a public Menorah Lighting on Sunday afternoon at Pomona Village Hall, bringing together local elected officials, community leaders, and residents for a communal Chanukah celebration.

The event was led by Pomona Deputy Mayor Mendy Lasker. Rabbi Ari Levitan, the Rav of K’hal Tiferes Tefillah, addressed the crowd ahead of the menorah lighting, followed by remarks from several other speakers, as attendees gathered in the spirit of Chanukah unity and celebration.

Organized by local residents, the event united community leaders, elected officials, and attendees in a display of Jewish resilience and solidarity. Among those present were Senator Bill Weber, Assemblyman Aron Wieder, Rockland County DA Tom Walsh, Legislator Paul Cleary, Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips, Council Members Ralph Kirschkel and Johnny Ortiz, Pomona Mayor Ilan Fuchs, Deputy Mayor Mendy Lasker, and Trustee Joel Grunwald.
