The Village of Kaser Transit system has announced exciting updates to its Route 5 service, making it easier and more convenient for residents to access The Marketplace and other key locations. This expansion ensures a reliable, safe, and punctual transportation option for the community, addressing the growing need for efficient public transit.
Route 5, known as “The Marketplace” route, offers hourly service to popular shopping centers, office buildings, and residential areas. Operating Sunday through Thursday from 9:45 AM to 6:45 PM, with the final route on Friday at 12:45 PM, the route ensures broad coverage throughout the week. Key destinations include The Marketplace, shopping plazas on Route 45, Lowe’s, Costco, and Bingo. Additionally, it services office buildings such as the Hillcrest Medical Center and 200 E. Eckerson Rd. Residential stops include Kearsing Parkway, Garden Terrace, Viola Rd., and Corner Street.
For passengers’ convenience, buses depart Bingo at 29 minutes past the hour and leave The Marketplace at 30 minutes past the hour. The consistent schedule makes it easy for riders to plan their trips and ensure timely arrivals at their destinations.
To accommodate increased demand, special service routes will be available this weekend. On Motzei Shabbos, December 14, additional routes ran from 7:45 PM to 10:45 PM. On Sunday, December 15, buses will operate from 12:15 PM to 6:15 PM, departing every 15 minutes in addition to the regular hourly service. These additional routes provide more flexibility for shoppers and others needing to travel during the busy holiday season.
Fares have also been updated to better serve families and individuals. The maximum fare for long-distance trips is now capped at $8.00 per family, maintaining affordability while offering extensive service options.
With growing concerns about traffic congestion, inflation, and transportation safety, public transit remains a vital resource for the community. The Village of Kaser Transit system continues to prioritize the needs of its residents, providing an efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly way to navigate the area.
