Village of Kaser to Commence Passport Appointments on Tuesday After Final Department Of State Approval

After more than a dozen years of persistent efforts, the Village of Kaser has finally secured approval for a passport application service, culminating in the long-awaited announcement of its launch. Following the final approval granted on Friday, February 9th, the Village is set to commence passport appointments starting this week, with operations scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

The initiative, spearheaded by Congressman Mike Lawler and his District Director Rafi Silberberg, marks a significant milestone in the Village’s journey towards enhancing local convenience for residents. Their tireless dedication and collaborative efforts have paved the way for this crucial service to be made available to the community.

In preparation for the service launch, the Village has bolstered its staff, with nine personnel trained as passport agents. Two individuals will be dedicated solely to the passport service agency, while seven others will be available for overflow or potential after-hours accommodations. A test run of appointments will be conducted on Monday, February 12th, paving the way for residents to schedule passport appointments starting Tuesday.

A Village official told Monsey Scoop, “We extend our sincerest thanks to Congressman Mike Lawler and his District Director Rafi Silberberg for their unwavering dedication in making this long-awaited service a reality. We are eager to begin serving the residents of Kaser and the entire Ramapo community, and beyond, with this essential convenience.”

Initially, appointments will be available Monday to Thursday, 10 AM to 4 PM, in half-hour slots. During this phase, the Village will process the passports through Connecticut, likely leading to faster approvals. However, this expedited processing is temporary. Once fully operational, the service will follow standard procedures. Residents and individuals residing outside the Village can schedule appointments by calling the Village Office at 845-352-2932 Ext 0. Additionally, passport photo services and related passport assistance will also be available.
