UPDATE: Suspect in Multiple Airmont–Chestnut Ridge Attacks Released Pending Court Date Under NYS Bail Reform

UPDATE (Following the Arraignment):
On November 28, 2025, Ramapo Police arrested a 30-year-old Airmont man in connection with multiple incidents that occurred on October 17 and November 26 in the Villages of Airmont and Chestnut Ridge.

On October 17, RPD responded to an alleged road rage incident in Airmont, during which the suspect reportedly threatened occupants of another vehicle with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Then, on November 26, in what police describe as another unprovoked incident, the same individual allegedly assaulted a male victim in Chestnut Ridge, approaching him in his vehicle and punching him several times. Moments later, the suspect allegedly encountered another male walking in Airmont and assaulted him as well.

After being identified by RPD detectives, the suspect turned himself in on November 28. He has been charged with two counts of Assault 3rd Degree, five counts of Menacing 2nd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The suspect was arraigned and released without bail, pending future court appearances. Orders of protection were issued on behalf of all victims.

MONSEY SCOOP NOTE: According to prior reported incidents, the suspect identified as Shaquille White, an African American male with dreadlock-style hair, has displayed violent and dangerous behavior. Due to New York State’s Bail Reform Law, he was released following arraignment and remains free until his upcoming court dates. White drives a red BMW and resides on Rustic Drive in Airmont. His next court appearances are scheduled as follows:

  • Thursday, December 4th at the Village of Airmont Court for the Airmont-related cases
  • Monday, December 15th at the Village of Chestnut Ridge Court for the Chestnut Ridge case

  1. That is not the first incident with people from that house. I used to live there and those people were a problem and should be deeply investigated.. They were yelling antisemitic comments at the police and the paramedics. ….I am a secular jew and was horrified nothing is being done about this situation.
