The Spring Valley Police Department has released new details in the stabbing and robbery incident that occurred on the evening of January 4, 2026 at Memorial Park in Spring Valley.
According to the department, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers responded to the park for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, they learned that a taxi driver had picked up three males when the group allegedly attacked the driver. During the assault, one of the males reportedly brandished a knife and the group took the driver’s phone and a large sum of United States currency.
During the incident, a third party who attempted to intervene was injured when cut by the knife, authorities said.
An immediate investigation led Spring Valley Police to identify and take into custody one of the suspects, a 13-year-old Spring Valley resident. The juvenile has been charged with Robbery in the First Degree (B-Felony).
Two other suspects are still actively being sought, police confirmed.

Police reminded the public that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
