UPDATE: Police Determine Materials At Dalewood Drive Home Were Part Of Cleaning Process

The Ramapo Police Department has provided an update following Thursday’s large emergency response on Dalewood Drive. According to police, investigators determined that the materials discovered inside the residence belonged to the homeowner and were being used as part of a cleaning process.

Officials said the materials are commercially available products that can be purchased at local retail stores. Federal partners who responded to the scene and assisted with the investigation also confirmed that the materials are safe and legal.

Authorities have since cleared the scene and Dalewood Drive has reopened, with officers returning to their normal patrol duties. Police say there is nothing further to report.


Initial Ramapo Police Press Release 

The Ramapo Police Department has released additional details regarding the large emergency response earlier Thursday on Dalewood Drive. According to police, on March 5, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the department was notified by the Rockland County Health Department of a possible clandestine laboratory located at 3 Dalewood Drive.

Responding officers confirmed the presence of suspicious materials at the location. The Tallman Fire Department, Rockland County Hazmat Team, and the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) also responded to assist with the investigation. Dalewood Drive was temporarily closed while the Hazmat Team conducted an assessment of the materials.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., the Hazmat Team determined the roadway was safe to reopen. The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by detectives from the Ramapo Police Department.

A large emergency response is currently underway on Dalewood Drive near Highview Road as authorities investigate a serious situation at a residence in the area. Ramapo Police, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, Tallman Fire Department, and the Rockland County Hazmat Team are all on the scene.

The entire block and surrounding area have been shut down as emergency crews work at the scene and assess the situation.
