In March 2025, Monsey Scoop reported that the New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT) had closed the ramp from the southbound Palisades Interstate Parkway to the northbound New York State Thruway (I-87/I-287) for approximately 45 days as part of a construction project.
However, more than seven months later, the ramp remains closed. Following inquiries made by Assemblyman Aron Wieder, the DOT provided an update confirming that the reopening is now expected by mid-November.
“Unfortunately, this project is taking longer than expected,” the DOT told Assemblyman Wieder. “Once they started work, they found additional items that needed to be addressed. At this point, we expect the ramp to reopen no later than mid-November. It will likely need to be closed again in the spring for a brief period of time, but it will be open again soon.”
Motorists are urged to continue following detour signage and allow extra travel time until the ramp officially reopens.

It’s a year and seven months!! Close to 20 months
The original post was on March 5, 2025 — so it’s definitely frustrating 😤📅, but not quite a year and seven months.
