The Eruv of Monsey announced Friday afternoon that all storm-related repairs have been completed and the entire Eruv has been restored and confirmed kosher ahead of Shabbos Parshas Matos–Masei.
Earlier this week, severe storms brought heavy rain, strong winds, and fallen trees that damaged utility wires and Eruv strings across the region. Inspectors identified 23 issues, including 20 that required immediate repair. Following several days of intensive work, all repairs have now been completed.
Crews restored damaged sections throughout the system, including repairs in Suffern, Airmont, Chestnut Ridge, Pearl River, Monsey, Spring Valley, Hillcrest, and Haverstraw. At the Good Samaritan Hospital Rambam Eruv, the final repair was completed after Orange and Rockland Utilities removed a large tree branch from utility wires along Route 59. Orange & Rockland also completed work in Wesley Hills and New City, allowing Eruv crews to finalize repairs in those areas.
Additional repairs were completed in Haverstraw, where crews carried out multiple projects along Thiells Mount Ivy Road, Roseman Road, and Route 202, including trimming branches, repairing Eruv strings and wires, correcting PVC alignment, and clearing additional vegetation.
Eruv officials expressed their appreciation to the volunteer checkers, repair crews, and Orange & Rockland utility teams for their extensive efforts throughout the week, noting that their cooperation made it possible to fully restore the Eruv before Shabbos.
Officials confirmed that all sections of the Monsey Eruv are now fully kosher and operational for Shabbos.
