Eruv officials have completed all remaining repairs identified during this week’s inspections, and the entire Monsey Eruv has been confirmed kosher ahead of Shabbos Parshas Korach.
The weekly inspection originally identified 23 issues throughout the Eruv system, including 19 that required immediate attention. Following an intensive repair effort that continued through Friday, all outstanding issues have now been addressed.
Among the larger projects completed this week were repairs in Airmont, where crews installed three new PVC pipes following a utility pole replacement on Hampshire Hill Road and rebuilt a section near Plymouth Drive and Hillside Avenue with four new PVC pipes. In Chestnut Ridge, crews trimmed branches and removed a wire interfering with the Eruv string along Route 45 near the New York State Thruway.
The remaining repairs in Pearl River and the Monsey Rambam section were also completed. A hanging branch resting on the Eruv string in a wooded area of Pearl River was removed, while crews repaired the Bates Drive area and corrected a wire hanging on the Eruv string along North Saddle River Road.
Additional work was completed in New City, Hillcrest, Spring Valley, and Haverstraw, where utility pole replacements, PVC upgrades, branch clearing, and wire adjustments were carried out to ensure the integrity of the Eruv.
Officials noted that strong winds earlier in the week caused numerous branches to come into contact with Eruv strings and wires, creating an unusually high number of issues. Despite the challenges, all repairs were successfully completed before Shabbos.
Eruv officials confirmed Friday afternoon that all sections of the Eruv, including Suffern, Good Samaritan Hospital, Airmont, Chestnut Ridge, Pearl River, Montebello, Monsey, Spring Valley, Nanuet, Wesley Hills, New Hempstead, New City, Hillcrest, and Haverstraw, are fully kosher and operational for Shabbos.
