UPDATE: Fire Earlier On Viola Road; Several Firefighters Injured

The structure fire at 166 Viola Road, at the corner of College Road, was successfully fully extinguished at approximately 5:30 PM today.

Three firefighters sustained injuries during the incident and were transported to local hospitals by EMS. They have since been released. More than a dozen other firefighters were assessed by EMS on the scene. In a separate incident, Tallman and Monsey fire trucks collided at the scene, resulting in damage to the fire trucks but no injuries. Additionally, a Monsey fire truck was involved in an accident with a car while responding to the fire at the intersection of Viola Road and West Maple Avenue.

Chaverim of Rockland provided essential support for traffic control and supplied ice-cold water and energy drinks to the firefighters and other emergency personnel.

The following agencies responded to the fire: Hatzolah of Rockland, Ramapo Police, Chaverim Of Rockland Monsey Fire Department, Tallman Fire Department, Spring Valley Fire Department, Hillcrest Fire Department, Thiells Fire Department, Suffern Fire Department, William P. Faist Ambulance, Spring Hill EMS and Rockland Paramedics.


Multiple fire departments, along with various other emergency personnel, have been dispatched to a structure fire at 166 Viola Road, located at the corner of College Road.

Authorities are urging locals to avoid the area to allow emergency teams to operate efficiently. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
