UPDATE: Fatal Crash on Route 303 Near Hemlock Drive in Congers

A fatal MVA occurred Wednesday morning, March 5, 2025, near the intersection of Route 303 and Hemlock Drive as reported by Monsey Scoop. The Clarkstown Police Department responded to the crash at approximately 9:20 a.m., involving a jackknifed Peterbilt dump truck and a heavily damaged white Kia Soul.

Upon arrival, officers found the dump truck blocking the roadway at the intersection, while the Kia had veered off into a grassy area, facing southbound. Emergency responders, including Congers-Valley Cottage Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics, attempted life-saving measures. However, the driver of the Kia, a 42-year-old man from New Jersey, was later pronounced dead at Nyack Montefiore Hospital. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene, and no additional injuries were reported. The Clarkstown Police Department’s Accident Investigation Unit is actively investigating the incident.
