UPDATE: Clarkstown Police Release Details After Central Nyack Woman Charged In Vine Street Stabbing

The Clarkstown Police Department has released additional details following the late-night stabbing incident on Vine Street in Central Nyack that led to the arrest of a 64-year-old woman.

As Monsey Scoop first reported, officers responded to the residence at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Monday, May 25, where they discovered an adult male suffering from stab wounds to his back and upper chest.

According to police, the victim stated he had been involved in an earlier argument with the suspect around 11:00 a.m., during which he was allegedly stabbed in the back.

Police say the victim later returned home around 11:00 p.m., woke the suspect, and another altercation broke out, during which he was allegedly stabbed again, causing serious injuries and significant bleeding.

Members of the Nyack Community Ambulance Corps treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital for further care.

Police identified the suspect as Catherine Doran, 64, of Central Nyack. She was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, a misdemeanor.

Doran was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail pending further proceedings.

Authorities noted that the charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
