In a significant turnaround, Bais Shifra Miriam, the longtime Monsey girls’ school that had previously announced its closure and a planned merger with Bas Yisroel Girls School, has now confirmed it will remain open for the upcoming 2025–2026 school year.
On Friday afternoon, school leadership made the announcement, reversing the earlier decision to shutter the institution and merge with Bas Yisroel. The news comes after weeks of uncertainty following the school’s temporary closure in March due to financial difficulties, as reported by Monsey Scoop.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop that renewed financial support and strong community backing played a major role in allowing the school to continue operating independently.
