UPDATE: 67-Year-Old Pomona Man Killed in Palisades Parkway Crash Near Exit 9E

A 67-year-old Pomona man has died following a single-vehicle crash on the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway in Clarkstown, New York State Police announced.

According to investigators, the crash occurred at approximately 9:16 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, near mile marker 18.6 in the vicinity of Exit 9E. Preliminary findings indicate that a 2016 Subaru traveling northbound in the left lane veered onto the eastern shoulder for reasons that remain under investigation before striking a guide rail.

The driver and sole occupant, identified as Joseph T. Wolosz, 67, of Pomona, was extricated from the vehicle by passing motorists. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures at the scene before he was transported to Montefiore Nyack Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
