UPDATE: 45-Year-Old Haverstraw Man Killed In Route 303 Pedestrian Crash In Orangeburg

As Monsey Scoop previously reported, a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Orangetown has tragically died from his injuries.

According to the Orangetown Police Department, officers responded on Saturday night, December 13, 2025, at approximately 9:05 p.m., to the area of 252 Route 303 for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers determined that the pedestrian had sustained serious injuries. South Orangetown Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics provided emergency medical care at the scene before transporting the victim to Nyack Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as 45-year-old William Huertas of Haverstraw, New York.

The incident remains under investigation by the Orangetown Police Department Accident Investigation Team. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has additional information to contact the Orangetown Police Department at 845-359-3700.
