On Monday, October 14, 2024, at approximately 9:30 AM, the Ramapo Police Department responded to a reported two-car crash with injuries at the intersection of New Hempstead Road and Summit Park Road. Upon arrival, officers found that the crash involved a 2000 Ford Taurus and a 2007 Honda Accord.
The Ford Taurus was occupied by a 69-year-old male driver and a 53-year-old female passenger, both residents of Spring Valley. Both occupants were transported to Nyack Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance. Sadly, the 53-year-old female passenger was later pronounced dead at the hospital due to the injuries she sustained in the crash.
The Honda Accord was driven by a 19-year-old male from New City, who was treated at the scene and released.
The Ramapo Police Department was assisted by Spring Hill Ambulance and the Hillcrest Fire Department. A preliminary investigation indicates that the Honda Accord was traveling westbound on New Hempstead Road, while the Ford Taurus was heading eastbound and attempting to make a left turn onto Summit Park Road. The incident is currently under investigation by the Town of Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit.

A motor vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of New Hempstead Road and Hempstead Road, with reports of two people trapped inside the vehicle. Spring Hill EMS, Rockland Paramedics, Ramapo Police, and Hillcrest Fire Department responded swiftly to the scene.
Two patients were successfully extricated from the vehicle and transported to a hospital by Spring Hill EMS. Sources tell Monsey Scoop that one individual has been taken to Westchester Medical Center, while another patient has been transported to Nyack Hospital.
