On Monday, October 14, 2024, at approximately 9:30 AM, the Ramapo Police Department responded to a reported two-car crash with injuries at the intersection of New Hempstead Road and Summit Park Road. Upon arrival, officers found that the crash involved a 2000 Ford Taurus and a 2007 Honda Accord.

The Ford Taurus was occupied by a 69-year-old male driver and a 53-year-old female passenger, both residents of Spring Valley. Both occupants were transported to Nyack Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance. Sadly, the 53-year-old female passenger was later pronounced dead at the hospital due to the injuries she sustained in the crash.

The Honda Accord was driven by a 19-year-old male from New City, who was treated at the scene and released.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the Honda Accord was traveling westbound on New Hempstead Road, while the Ford Taurus was heading eastbound and attempting to make a left turn onto Summit Park Road.
