Cara Pace, CEO of United Hospice, the leading nonprofit hospice provider in Rockland and Orange Counties, was recently named to the Rockland Business Association (RBA) Board of Directors. The RBA has over 500 members, ranging from small businesses to major corporations, and is responsible for advocating on behalf of its members to local, state, and federal lawmakers. The RBA also provides members with access to networking events, educational experiences, and resources to help their businesses succeed.
Cara brings 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector to the Rockland Business Association. Over the course of her career, she has developed over $100 million in new business revenue for the organizations she has served.
Cara joined United Hospice in 2019, first as Chief Operating Officer and quickly became Chief Executive Officer. In addition to leading United Hospice, Cara serves on the board of the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State (HPCANYS) and on the HPCANYS Legislative/Regulatory Public Policy Committee where she works with other hospice leaders from across the state to establish advocacy plans to increase government support for nonprofit hospice providers.
Earlier this year, United Hospice was honored by the Rockland Business Association with the Pinnacle Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Non-Profit Organization.
Cara Pace, CEO of United Hospice, said: “I am honored to have been chosen to serve on the Board of Directors for the Rockland County Business Association. Nonprofit organizations, like mine, are an invaluable part of the business community here in Rockland and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to advocate on their behalf, both before the board as a whole and on the new nonprofit council. I look forward to working with Michael, Ken, and the other Directors to ensure that Rockland County continues to be a place where both nonprofit and corporate organizations are able to thrive.”
Michael Shilale, Chair of the Rockland County Business Association, said: “Excited to welcome Cara Pace, passionate CEO of United Hospice, to the Rockland Business Association’s Board of Directors! Her leadership and compassion will inspire us all and benefit our new nonprofit council.”
Ken Zebrowski, President of the Rockland County Business Association, said: “Under Cara Pace’s leadership, United Hospice is one of Rockland’s most respected not-for-profits. Her service on our Board will broaden the RBA’s capacity to serve our members and the community.”
