In a series of events Saturday night, Town of Ramapo Police Officers took prompt action against suspected underage drinking activities in two separate locations.
The first incident occurred in the Village of Montebello when officers were alerted about a noise complaint and possible underage drinking at a local residence. After a thorough investigation at the scene, a 61-year-old woman was arrested. She now faces charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Nuisance in the 2nd degree, and Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage to an individual under 21.
Later in the evening, a similar complaint led officers to a home in the Village of Airmont. Following an on-scene investigation, a 38-year-old woman was arrested and charged with the same offenses as the earlier incident.
Both individuals were processed at the Ramapo Police Department and have since been released, pending a future court appearance.
The Ramapo PD has emphasized their strict stand on underage drinking, stating, “We operate with a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY on underage drinking. Hosting such parties can lead to arrest, and there are several New York State Penal Law Misdemeanor charges, along with Alcohol Beverage Control Law Violations, that one might face as a consequence.”
