Two Ramapo Police Officers were injured Thursday night during a traffic stop that escalated into a violent struggle.
Officers had pulled over a 27-year-old Nanuet man for a traffic violation when they discovered he had a suspended license, a Bench Warrant out of the Village of New Hempstead, and an active Arrest Warrant from the Town of Clarkstown.
When they attempted to take him into custody, the suspect violently resisted, injuring both officers. He was ultimately subdued and arrested.
He was processed Thursday night at Ramapo Police Headquarters and is now facing multiple charges, including Felony Assault in the Second Degree. The officers were treated at a local hospital and are recovering.
