Two Ramapo Detectives Embark on 300-Mile Ride to Honor Fallen Officers

Detective Peggy Braddock and Retired Detective Rob Fitzgerald of the Ramapo Police Department have embarked on a 300-mile journey to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. The ride, part of the Police Unity Tour, is a tribute to fallen officers and aims to raise funds and awareness for the memorial.

Det. Braddock is riding in honor of Supervisory Police Officer Yiu T. Tao of the FBI, who passed away due to cancer linked to his service in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Retired Det. Fitzgerald is paying tribute to Sgt. Christopher Fitzgerald of the Temple University Police Association, who was tragically shot and killed by a robbery suspect.

Joining approximately 3,000 riders from across the nation, they converged at the memorial to honor the sacrifices of their fellow officers. The Ramapo Police Department commended their dedication and commitment to the cause.
