On February 28, 2025, New York State Troopers from Troop T, SP Tarrytown, arrested two men for possessing a large quantity of narcotics with intent to sell. The arrests were made as part of the Rockland County Violent Crime Suppression Detail.
At approximately 8:26 p.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2019 Honda Pilot on the New York State Thruway in the Town of Ramapo for a violation of vehicle and traffic laws. The driver was identified as Robert Morales, 57, of Rensselaer, and the passenger as Irving Prado, 51, of the Bronx.
During the investigation, K-9 Odin was deployed and alerted to the vehicle, leading to a probable cause search. Troopers discovered and seized approximately 48.5 grams of Fentanyl and 56 grams of Crack Cocaine.
Both Morales and Prado were arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Possession of a Narcotic Drug, ½ oz or More) under Penal Law §220.16(12) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Intent to Sell) under Penal Law §220.16(1). Both charges are classified as class B felonies.
The suspects were arraigned before Judge Michael Bongiorno in Clarkstown Town Court and ordered held at the Rockland County Jail. They are scheduled to reappear in Ramapo Town Court on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
