Two Hillcrest Residents Arrested by Ramapo Police Detective Squad in Taxi Robbery and Theft Investigation

The Town of Ramapo Police Department Detective Squad announced the arrest of two individuals on Friday in connection with recent incidents involving the robbery and theft of service from local taxi drivers.

A 26-year-old male from Hillcrest was taken into custody for his alleged involvement in two separate cases. He has been charged with Petit Larceny, Theft of Service, and Robbery in the Second Degree. Following his arraignment before Judge Straus, he was remanded to the Rockland County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Ramapo Court at a later date.

Additionally, a 27-year-old female, also from Hillcrest, was arrested for her alleged role in one of the incidents. She has been charged with Petit Larceny and Theft of Service. She was released on her own recognizance and is also scheduled to return to Ramapo Court.

Authorities remind the public that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
