Two Arrested in Armed Robbery of Taxi Driver in New Hempstead

The Ramapo Police Department announced the arrest of two men, ages 19 and 33, from Spring Valley, for the armed robbery of a taxi driver in New Hempstead on Monday February 12, 2024.

Authorities said the suspects were apprehended in Spring Valley after detectives linked them to the crime, where they allegedly robbed the driver at knife-point upon completing their fare.

Facing charges including first and second-degree robbery, assault, and weapon possession, both were jailed on $25,000 bail with assistance from the Spring Valley Police Department in the investigation.
