A free Narcan training session will be held Tuesday evening, August 11, at the Tallman Fire Department, offering area residents an opportunity to learn how to respond during an opioid overdose emergency.
The training, presented by Harmonious Hearts, will begin at 7:30 PM at the firehouse, located at 289 Route 59 in Tallman.
Participants will be taught how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to properly administer Narcan, also known as naloxone, which can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose. Those attending will receive free Narcan kits and certification in administering the medication.
Harmonious Hearts is a nonprofit organization focused on raising awareness and combating opioid abuse.
