Tractor Trailer Rollover on NYS Thruway Early This Morning Causes Fuel Spill; Driver Escapes with Minor Injuries

Early this morning, just before 5 a.m., Nanuet EMS and Rockland Paramedic Services’ Medic 5 were dispatched to a tractor-trailer rollover on the NYS Thruway southbound near Exit 14. Reports indicated potential entrapment, but the driver was able to self-extricate before the arrival of EMS and fire departments. He was transported to Nyack Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident resulted in a diesel fuel and oil spill affecting the left lane and shoulder. Multiple agencies, including Medic 5, Nanuet Fire Department, West Nyack Fire Department, Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services HazMat Team, Rockland County Technical Rescue Team, and the New York State Police, responded to the scene.
