Town of Ramapo Upgrades Willow Tree Park with Handicap-Accessible Walkway and Rebuilt Pier

The Town of Ramapo has made significant strides in improving Willow Tree Park, with several upgrades already completed and more enhancements on the horizon. The Parks and Recreation Department has finalized the installation of a handicap-accessible walkway connecting Amsterdam Avenue to the park, ensuring greater access for all residents.

Work is also nearly complete on a full reconstruction of the park’s pier, including refurbished benches, which are expected to be painted at a later stage. Additional benches throughout the park are also being addressed as part of ongoing improvement efforts.

Looking ahead, town officials are exploring the addition of new parking spaces in collaboration with the Highway Department. A proposal for a new playground has also been submitted to the village of Wesley Hills, with a detailed layout under review to potentially advance the park’s development.

Officials say they will continue reviewing progress and provide updates as projects move forward, aiming to enhance the park experience for the entire community.
