A ribbon cutting ceremony was held this week to celebrate the completion of new sidewalks and upgraded street lighting along West Carlton Road and Pine Road. The event was hosted by Khal Menichas Usher and neighborhood residents who had long advocated for these crucial improvements.
Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht and Chief of Staff Mona Montal were in attendance to mark the occasion. Supervisor Specht was presented with an Exemplary Leadership Award from the “West Carlton/Pine Road Neighborhood,” in appreciation of his efforts in addressing the safety concerns of the community.
The newly installed sidewalks and upgraded pole-mounted street lighting are expected to significantly enhance pedestrian safety and visibility in an area known for heavy foot traffic. While Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn was not present, he was recognized for the Highway Department’s critical role in the project’s execution.
“This project is a great example of what happens when community members and local government work hand in hand,” Supervisor Specht told Monsey Scoop. “I’m grateful for the partnership and proud of what we’ve accomplished together to improve safety and quality of life for our residents.”
