Town of Ramapo Unveils New Garage for William P. Faist Ambulance Corps in Airmont

The Town of Ramapo officially opened a brand-new garage for the William P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps, located at 5 S de Baun Avenue in Airmont, just steps away from Town Hall. This state-of-the-art facility will house two ambulances dedicated to serving the “Faist Central” neighborhoods, including Airmont, Montebello, and Suffern.

Until now, these ambulances had been stationed near the RSVP restaurant on Route 59 near South Airmont Road, which served as a temporary location. With the new garage now operational, crews will benefit from a fully ventilated, modern space that will allow operations to run more smoothly and efficiently.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Friday marked the grand opening of the facility. The event was attended by local and state elected officials, as well as law enforcement and fire personnel from the surrounding communities.

Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht told Monsey Scoop, “We’re proud to support our first responders—including the incredible volunteers of William P. Faist EMS—with the infrastructure they need to succeed. This new garage is a testament to the town’s commitment to public safety, and we’re thrilled to see it come to life.”

Chief Shimon Singer of the Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps told Monsey Scoop, “This facility is a game-changer for our volunteers and the residents we serve. It gives us the proper tools and environment to respond quickly and professionally. I thank the Town of Ramapo—Supervisor Michael Specht, Chief of Staff Mona Montel and OEP Coordinator Josh Hans—for their unwavering support and hands-on involvement throughout the process.”
