In a proud moment for the Town of Ramapo, four new police officers were officially sworn into the Ramapo Police Department on Tuesday morning at a ceremony held inside Town Hall.

The new officers bring a range of prior law-enforcement experience: Officer Brian Nugent joins from the Village of Chester Police Department, Officers Daniel Rivera and Rahsone Simpson come from the NYPD, and Officer Emma Sullivan arrives from the Village of Blooming Grove Police Department.

Ramapo Police Chief Daniel Hyman told Monsey Scoop, “These four officers join the Town of Ramapo with experience from both Orange County and New York City. We are confident they will serve our community with integrity and professionalism. I also want to thank the Town Supervisor, the Chief of Staff, and the entire Town Board for their continued support of our police department and their commitment to the safety of our residents.”

Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht also addressed the significance of the event, stating to Monsey Scoop, “Our police department continues to grow with talented and dedicated individuals. The Town of Ramapo is proud to welcome these officers and grateful for their willingness to serve and protect our residents.”

The new hires come as part of the town’s ongoing efforts to bolster public safety and ensure Ramapo continues to receive top-tier police service across its growing and diverse community.
