The Town of Ramapo is urging residents to stay vigilant when using local taxi services, following the release of a new Taxi Safety Alert from the Ramapo Taxi & Limousine Commission.
The alert reminds passengers to “Look Before You Enter!” — emphasizing the importance of verifying that every taxi displays an updated Ramapo Taxi Commission permit sticker. These official stickers must be clearly visible on the front windshield, rear window, and inside every passenger window of the vehicle.
Each year, the sticker color changes to prevent fraud or misuse. The 2026 official sticker is yellow, and residents are encouraged to make sure the number printed on the sticker matches the vehicle they are entering. This verification step helps protect passengers and ensures they are riding with properly licensed and inspected taxis.
The Town stresses that if any resident has concerns or wishes to report a complaint regarding a taxi, they should take note of the permit number inside the vehicle and reach out immediately.
For questions, concerns, or to report an issue, the Ramapo Taxi Commission can be contacted at:

Town officials say these reminders are part of an ongoing effort to enhance public safety and maintain high standards across all transportation services operating within Ramapo.
