Town of Ramapo Introduces Electronic Parking Ticket System With Instant Online Payments

The Town of Ramapo has completed the rollout of its new electronic parking ticket system, making it significantly faster and more convenient for motorists to pay parking violations online.

Although the transition officially began on May 18, 2026, electronic tickets started being issued during the first week of June. Unlike the previous handwritten process, tickets issued through the new system are available for online payment immediately after they are issued.

Previously, handwritten parking tickets had to be filed with the court, manually entered into the system, and fine notices mailed before online payment was possible—a process that often took several weeks.

“Modernizing this process makes it easier and more convenient for residents to resolve parking tickets without unnecessary delays,” Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht told Monsey Scoop. “This new electronic system improves efficiency, provides immediate access to payment options, and is another step toward delivering better service to our community.”

The Town noted that some agencies continue to issue handwritten parking tickets, which will still require several days to be processed by the court before they appear in the online payment system.
