The Town of Ramapo, together with the Ramapo Highway Department, has installed a new all-way stop at the intersection of West Maple Avenue and Smolley Drive, along with a new crosswalk to improve pedestrian safety and provide easier access to Viola Park.
The improvements are aimed at making the intersection safer for pedestrians, particularly children and families walking to and from the park. The new crosswalk provides a designated crossing point, while the all-way stop requires motorists approaching the intersection from all directions to come to a complete stop.
Drivers traveling through the area are urged to be aware of the new traffic pattern and use caution as motorists become accustomed to the change.
