Town of Ramapo Installs Flashing Stop Sign Lights at Forshay Road and South Parker Drive Intersection Following Spike in Accidents

The Town of Ramapo has installed flashing lights on the stop sign at South Parker Drive in an effort to curb the growing number of accidents at the intersection with Forshay Road. The move comes after a 1970 Chevrolet Corvette was involved in a crash at the location on Wednesday morning, marking yet another incident at the troubled junction.

As Monsey Scoop noted in Wednesday’s article, a local resident reported that the intersection has seen at least 15 accidents since October and called for immediate safety measures. Following that report, Town Supervisor Michael Specht responded by having the flashing lights installed as a temporary solution to improve visibility and alert drivers.

Supervisor Specht told Monsey Scoop that the Town is also in communication with Rockland County officials and is arranging a meeting to explore long-term solutions to enhance safety at the intersection.
