The Town of Ramapo held its annual Pre-Pesach coordination meeting at Town Hall Wednesday morning, bringing together key town officials, emergency services, sanitation departments, and community askonim to ensure everything is in place for the busy weeks leading up to Yom Tov.
Officials outlined an expanded garbage collection plan beginning the week of March 16, including DAILY pickups in high-volume neighborhoods, additional packer trucks on the road, and stronger coordination between Litter Patrol, the Department of Public Works, and Interstate Waste Services to respond to complaints quickly and efficiently. The focus: keeping Ramapo clean as the pre-Pesach rush intensifies.
Rockland Green representatives discussed extended hours at the transfer station, including additional Sunday availability to accommodate increased disposal needs. Fire safety was also front and center. The Monsey Fire Department, together with the town fire inspector, reviewed detailed plans for the annual Chometz Burn set for Wednesday, April 1, from 6:00 a.m. through noon. Official burn locations will include Manny Weldler Park, Boulders Stadium, the Park & Ride lot, and Clark Park.
Town officials further reviewed preparations for each burn site, including roll-off containers, barricades, pallet distribution, cleanup operations, and insurance requirements. Additional dumpsters will be positioned at Manny Weldler Park, Boulders Stadium, Spook Rock Pool, Saddle River Pool, Willow Tree Park, and Clark Park to assist residents.
The Ramapo Highway Department will deploy street sweepers throughout town, while law enforcement finalized plans for orderly parking, traffic flow, and enforcement to ensure safety at all locations.
The message was clear: FULL coordination between town departments and community leaders to deliver a safe, organized, and smooth Pesach season for Ramapo residents.
