In an effort to streamline traffic and reduce congestion, the Town of Ramapo has overseen significant renovations to Ellish Parkway over the past year, particularly at its junction with Maple Avenue. The familiar median strip, once lined with grass and trees, has been partially removed to make space for a dedicated right-turn lane, addressing a longstanding traffic bottleneck at the intersection.
In addition to the new turning lane, the remaining median has been narrowed, allowing for further street widening and enhancing overall roadway capacity. This week, construction crews completed fresh road markings, officially designating the new lane and providing clear guidance for drivers navigating the area.
Local officials anticipate that these changes will significantly improve traffic flow and reduce delays, especially during peak hours. The project reflects ongoing efforts to accommodate growth and ensure safer, more efficient commutes for the community.
