Town of Clarkstown to Honor WWII Veteran and Longtime Congers Firefighter Al Magnatta with Street Dedication

The Town of Clarkstown will pay tribute to one of its most cherished residents, Al Magnatta, with a street dedication ceremony on Tuesday, August 12, at 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Chauncy Street and Endicott Street in Congers.

Magnatta, a World War II veteran, has served in the Congers Fire Department for nearly 80 years, including a term as Chief, where he helped raise fire safety standards across Rockland County. Earlier this year, he celebrated his 100th birthday and remains an active member of the department to this day.

Town officials and community members are invited to join in celebrating Magnatta’s extraordinary life of service to both his country and the Clarkstown community.
