Tomche Shabbos of Rockland Relocates After 25 Years to Expansive New Headquarters on Chestnut Ridge Road {PHOTOS & VIDEO}

After more than 25 years of bringing food, dignity, and hope to thousands of Rockland County families from its longtime Spook Rock Road warehouse, Tomche Shabbos of Rockland has officially moved into a spacious new facility at 540 Chestnut Ridge Road, marking a major milestone for one of the county’s most cherished chesed organizations.

The new headquarters spans an impressive 24,352 square feet, featuring a wide range of specialized spaces to accommodate the organization’s expanding operations. The building includes:

  • 10,712 sq. ft. of warehouse space for storage and distribution

  • 3,187 sq. ft. of other space

  • 3,127 sq. ft. of back office space

  • 1,567 sq. ft. of front office space

  • 2,238 sq. ft. designated for EMS operations

  • And a 3,519 sq. ft. mezzanine level for additional capacity and future expansion

At the heart of the new facility are two enormous refrigeration units, each 44 feet long, one measuring 44 by 12 feet and the other 44 by 16 feet—both standing roughly 16 feet tall.

Speaking to Monsey Scoop, a Tomche Shabbos representative said, “If you talk about a massive fridge and freezer, this is it. This gives us the ability to store and manage food at a scale we’ve never had before.”

With the expanded space, Tomche Shabbos can now operate its Chodesh Food Outlet, manage weekly distributions, and purchase food in larger quantities, allowing the organization to secure better pricing and hold more frequent community sales.

The representative added, “This new building gives us room to breathe, to grow, and to serve. We now have the space to run our food outlet, expand our operations, and collaborate with other divisions that share our mission.”

Beyond food assistance, the new facility will serve as a hub for multiple community initiatives, including:

  • Partners in Parnasa – a job placement division helping connect job seekers with employers

  • Rockland Hatzoloh, which will now have dedicated EMS space for ambulances and equipment

  • Bobby’s Place, distributing brand-new clothing to over 8,000 children annually before each Yom Tov

  • The Gown Gemach, providing gowns and clothing for families in need

  • The Monsey Camp Fund, assisting families in covering summer camp expenses

Together, these divisions create a unified ecosystem of support, Tomche Shabbos, Partners in Parnasa, Bobby’s Place, the Gown Gemach, Rockland Hatzoloh, the Chodesh Food Outlet, and the Monsey Camp Fund, all operating under one roof.

“This move is much more than a change of address,” the representative told Monsey Scoop. “It’s a statement of our continued dedication to Rockland County — ensuring no family is left behind.”
