Residents of Spring Valley are being invited to take part in upcoming community cleanup efforts as part of the “Spring Valley Greatest American Cleanup,” aimed at keeping the village’s parks clean and green.
The initiative will feature two major cleanup events at Spring Valley Memorial Park. The first, an Earth Day Cleanup, is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A second event, the Back-to-School Cleanup, will take place on Friday, August 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Organizers say the events are open to participants of all ages, with supplies provided on-site. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to earn community service hours while contributing to the beautification of the local park.
The cleanup is being organized in partnership with community groups and is powered by Keep Rockland Beautiful. Supporters include local officials and organizations, among them Congressman Mike Lawler, Assemblyman Aron Wieder and State Senator Bill Weber.
Community members are encouraged to register in advance and take part in the effort to help maintain one of Spring Valley’s central recreational spaces.
